While there are a handful of organizations such as GuideStar and Charity Navigator whose purpose it is to help rate and provide transparency within the not-for-profit world, and where those positive ratings are a must for any charitable organization, for the most part individual donors probably aren’t up to speed on what the standards and benchmarks are for the industry as a whole.
In an effort to aid in our transparency we thought it would be a great exercise to look at what the industry standards were so that we could better set goals for ourselves, and then of course, going one step further, why not publish those here to our site as an open reference for everyone.
